I'm not a religious person. But I did pray last night to God, or Jesus, or the Fates to please for them to intervene. I haven't prayed in years. But I did last night. And I'm seriously thinking now that Bush ruining what's left of this country's integrity is all planned. Yup. It seems to me that God wants to hit the reboot button and that Tool from Texas is it.
Even if I move to Canada or Europe or the remote outskirts of Siberia, I'll still be affected by a warmonger idiot and his posse of puppet-masters. Thanks to a lot of people who can't think for themselves, or who are too afraid to, we can now look forward to more terrorist attacks, higher taxes, the rights being stripped from the people who need it most, higher gas prices, and without a single doubt -– the draft. Do you honestly think we have enough redneck frat boys, or poor kids from the ghetto more likely, to fight in the current war? Nope. And since Cheney said last year that he wants the draft age to be extended to 35, and to include women, no one is exempt from being heaped on to the big pile of Bush's plastic green army toys.
The solution? Well, since God seems to be set on letting his little science project go to hell, all we can do is fight back by not giving up. Run for office yourself. Make contacts at Soldier of Fortune magazine. Get the Scientology and Disney lawyers against Bush. Move to Wyoming and start a cult. You get the picture.
Even though I'm more ashamed of this country now than I've ever been in my entire life, I'm not willing to give up on this her just yet. She needs us. It's a little like when your best friend decides to stay with an abusive boyfriend even though he beats the crap out of her every day. Do you give up on her, or do you drive your El Camino up to her apartment in the dead of the night, kick her boyfriend in the balls, and take her the hell out of there? I don't know about you, but my cowboy boots are on for some much needed kickin'!
