Artists Worth Knowing

Here's the deal. I have a bunch of artist pals that I ADORE here on LJ, but not all of you know each other, and some of you don't even realize this place is a mecca for talent. So I wanted to introduce you all to some of my favorite folks here whose creativity simply blow me away. Chaeck out their stuff, read their blogs, support their art, share ideas and best of all make new friends.

And if I forget anyone, or if you want to introduce ME to some new artists, please do in the comments area! I'm all ears!

itsolivia -- Olivia isn't just a kick-ass designer and painter, but her blog entries are always chock-full of amazing links to design sites I've never even heard of. Her wit and charm inspire me to create cool stuff and explore the design world a bit more.

voot397 Punk rock girls with cat-eye glasses and scrawny indie boys wearing glasses mixing it up with down-on-out robots and alien creatures dominate the thoughts of artist James "Jimbot" Demski Jr. Read my interview with him here on my Artist Series on Grrl.com.

calamityjon -- His comics and illustrations crack me up to no end. So if you want a much-needed chuckle, click away!

deadlybloom -- Kiana has a style that melds Keane, Eve, gothiness and cutesy portraits that are both beautiful and sweet.

fareldal -- Farel's sketches take me to another world of winged Emo rockers and urban dwellers I never noticed before.

lucers -- Lillian's art is both dreamy and surreal.

momomoogie -- Stella has a way of making you feel like you're sneaking a glance at a parallel universe inhabited by sleepy ladies.

taxidermied -- Roman Dirge is one of my favorite comic book artists to come along in the last 10 years. You might know him from Lenore. If Edward Gorey and Tim Burton had a lovechild, it would be Roman.

Star Wars artists you should be paying attention to:
