Whenever I need to practice writing fiction... I like to go to Fark.com and look at the headlines, then pick a story and expand on it.
Of course, the more I read the news stories listed on Fark, the more I want to option them for movie screenplays.
Here's just a few that I could see being blockbusters...
or at least Lifetime movies...
A gang of anarchist Robin Hood-style thieves dress as superheroes and steal expensive food from exclusive restaurants to give to the poor.
Rebel Without a Savings Account :
Bad: You rob a bank. Worse: You rob seven banks. Fark.com: You're 13 years old
Steal My Heart : If you're trying to rob a store, remember that leaving your name and phone number with the attractive checkout operator you were chatting up is a sure-fire way to get caught.
Suddenly Soldiers : Autistic young man recruited for very special forces.
Deadly Skies : Four-year-old jumping on trampoline sucked into the sky by passing dust-devil.
Honor Among Thieves : Burglar risks life-Imprisonment for turning in child molester, but did it anyway.
Of course, the more I read the news stories listed on Fark, the more I want to option them for movie screenplays.
