Bless you, Gnarls Barkley
May. 16th, 2006 12:50 pm
Dear Gnarls Barkley,
Before you came along I was lost in a sea of crap radio stations and stuck in my '80s rut. I needed new music that wasn't crap. I needed to stop listening to the same Nine Inch Nails record on a loop. I needed something that didn't make me twitch in pain. And you answered my prayers.
You are now in my will. I sure hope you like PEZ.
Love,
Bonnie

(if you friend them, check out their pics. They dress up for each performance as to pay homage to a different movie each time. At Coachella they were all Wizard of Oz characters.)

And if you don't like them, don't tell me.
Don't be a buzzkill.
I'm already pretty bummed about the Easter Bunny being a fake.
Gracias.

2006 Chewbacca Charity Pin
May. 16th, 2006 04:46 pm
The 2006 DCSWCC Charity Pin Drive is now underway to raise funds for the Children's Inn at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Authorized by LucasFilm, this year's pin features Chewbacca scaling the Washington Monument and grabbing a TIE fighter out of the air, a la King Kong.
Pins are $10.00 which includes shipping within the US, an additional charge of $2 applies for shipping outside the US. Only 1000 pins have been made so supply is limited.
Limit of 5 pins per user, orders placed for more than 5 pins will be cancelled.
The Children's Inn operates a private, non-profit, family-centered residence at NIH for pediatric outpatients and their families. For the past 16 years, TCI has housed over 6,000 pediatric patients and their families while the children receive treatment for illnesses such as cancer, heart, lung, blood, bone and growth disorders, mental illness and HIV Infection. More information may be found at http://www.childrensinn.org/about/.
