Since I'm getting all nostalgic about old SNL skits that I really loved... I
have to mention "Goth Talk."
WATCH VIDEO CLIPS OF THE SKITS HERE.(be forwarned sometimes the link is up and sometimes it's not...)
Hosted by Azrael Abyss -- The Prince of Sorrow (Chris Kattan) and Circe Nightshade (Molly Shannon), their cable-access show "Goth Talk" -- filmed in the family garage -- was constantly interrupted by Azrael's drunk jock brother... they had an array of guests who popped in the show including Robe Lowe, Jeff Goldblum, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Steve Buscemi, Lucy Lawless, Christina Ricci and even Charlize Theron as, of course... goths, or in Buscemi's case -- the pasty high school janitor.
Rob Lowe's was probably the funniest of all of them as
you can see here.Weird thing was even if they were mocking Goths, they did a spot on job of not only looking the part perfectly, but also acting the part. Christina Ricci is "Hezebaia of the Dust" was almost too convincing as a Goth... which I guess isn't too much of a stretch for her.
Here's the transcript of one of the "Goth Talk" shows here.Favorites quotes from that episode being:
Circe Nightshade: My name is not Stephanie! It's Circe Nightshade, Denise! And anyway you can shove Orlando! I'm a hundred times more Goth than you are and I always have been!
Countess Cabuella: Yeah, you were real Goth when you modeled pajamas for Pic-N-Save.
Circe Nightshade: Oh, yeah, well you sure were the Dark Mistress of the Night when you lip-synched to Ace of Base in our 8th grade talent show!
