Summary: Lucasfilm is seeking a motivated, highly organized individual to help coordinate large-scale Star Wars fan events. This is a project position, and is expected to run about 13 months, from July of 2006 through July of 2007.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate, as directed by the Events Manager, planning and production details for Star Wars Celebration IV and other potential fan events. Star WarsCelebration IV is scheduled for Memorial Day weekend, May 24-28, 2007 in Los Angeles.
- Coordinate the Art Show, and other specific programming tracks as directed by the Events Manager.
- Coordinate approval processes with Licensee.
- Track approval process and other event documentation.
- Work with convention licensee on volunteer coordination, fast track systems, and line management.
- Communicate with Licensee's staff on other logistical and programming details as needed.
- Contribute to the creative process of events, including strategy and design.
- Attend Star Wars Celebration IV and other potential events and work with the team coordinating at these events.
- Take on other responsibilities as directed by the Events Manager to ensure Celebration IV and other potential events are successful.
- Coordinate office management duties associated with events.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of three years experience in event planning and coordination. Experience in entertainment industry events preferred, but not required.
- Valid passport. Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally.
- Understanding of convention elements, including logistics, stage management, program scheduling, audio/visual basics, and crowd control.
- Experience with travel and itinerary coordination.
- Ability to prioritize multiple, changing projects in a dynamic, sometimes high-pressure environment.
- Collaborative, team-oriented work style.
- Self-starter, willing to contribute to the event effort immediately.
- Ability to work with a variety of personalities, including the Lucasfilm team, Licensee team, vendors, celebrities, entertainers, and members of the Star Wars fan community.
- Knowledge of Star Wars and the Star Wars fan community preferred, but not required.
