The Fallen (ABC Family Movie)

The The Fallen is a great book series, but sadly thanks to ABC Family Channel -- who bought the right to create and distribute the TV version -- it's on the cheesy side and was only shown on TV once before it was yanked off the air. It could have been so much cooler like Buffy or Hex or hell, even Blade is better than this. *sigh*

For those of you who missed it and want to see it, the whole TV movie is in parts on YouTube.

Execute Order 88

As the bass player for Los Angeles-based power-pop band The 88, Todd O'Keefe isn't certain a Star Wars character could easily fit into their indie rock outfit. "I'm not sure if any character from Star Wars would like to be in The 88," O'Keefe laughs. "It's a very delicate dynamic that we've carved out for ourselves, and a creature from outer space might upset the fragile balance. What if they wanted to start writing songs? Will they be able to tour? Are you starting to see the problems that could come up?"

O'Keefe's appreciation for the saga began, like most fans, as a kid watching a galaxy far, far away on the big screen. "A New Hope was the big one for me," O'Keefe says. "Once I saw that, I was hooked. That movie stands on its own even without any back story. Star Wars was the first movie I ever saw. I was four years old. I can't say I remember seeing the movie, but it obviously had quite an impact on me because here I am talking about it thirty years later."
