I Should Stay Away from Paxton Gate
This Saturday, I walked into Paxton Gate like I always do, with a plan to buy more air plants for the apartment and instead I stare at the wall of taxidermy for hours and hours pining the heads of deer, antelope, wild boars and gizelle.
This time I managed to put a $300 deer head on hold, and then got home and realized that even though it's super cool, it would completely dominate the apartment. So I called them to say nevermind...like a wishywashy spaz.
And then as soon as I did it, I realized it would have looked damn cool in my kitchen.
Ugh. I feel like I can't commit to any big purchases these days. Or worse, I feel like an adult who should be more responsible and start seriously saving towards a car that works, or an apartment that isn't in gangland. Meh.
So now I sit here wondering what could have been with the deer head.
Heck, I even named her Gladis.
*sigh*
UPDATE:
I went back and bought it. Yeah, you heard right.
But now I need to figure out how to hang it and where. It's either going over my desk or in the kitchen, as soon as I can find a way to hang it on my flimsy drywalls. She won't be viewable from my bed though. I can only deal with the jackaloupe staring down at me as I catch my zzzzzzs.
Yup, Gladis will be going in the kitchen over the wet bar. What can I say? We all have our weaknesses. And I've moved on from self-destructive musicians to taxidermy. So far, I think I made the right choice. ;-)
